INFO ON THE BAND AND THE MUSIC
The musical intensions of this band is, as with most bands, to make music that first of all appeals to themselves. Metal might be the foundation of the music but from there it reaches out to mellow jazz and intriguing folkmelodies.
**************************
The present set features a wide selection of tracks spanning over almost the complete spectrum of heavy music. One thing, though, that can be found throughout the material is the almost constant presence of musical awareness and odd instrumentations. The use of a recorder, a violin or a fretless guitar topped with a three-voice wind arrangement are just a few examples of how to make a bizarre kind of hardrock.

REVIEW
************
"Book of hours - Previously unreleased (CACMC 001)
Book of hours are an interesting new band from Sweden and they have  released one demo, 'Previously unreleased'. the opening track is very  good at the beginning but feels a bit long. the winning track of this cassette is 'tender Contempt'.  Book of Hours have been rather joyful both musically and lyrically, but this very track shows a much darker and heavier side of the band. Mr Reinholdsson (basspalyer) has really managed to write some stunning lyrics here. The influence from a band like Gentle Giant is clearly shown in the
music, particularily in 'Animating misery'. I eralier mentioned the bassplayers lyrical work on 'Tender Contempt'.  The drummer (Henrik Johansson) has really made a nice piece of poetry in 'Endearment'. The growth of this band, I think, lies in the lyrics  this time.
To sum it up; Very good lyrics and great music. So, listen and enjoy!
Linda Jansson"
